Metsovo
Metsovo, a mountain village at an altitude of 1,160m in the Pindus mountain range, is considered the “door” to Epirus and Zagoria region. A true time-travel sensation can be experienced here, where traditional crafts are still alive: stroll past textile shops, wineries and metsovone cheese shops, traditional architecture, accompanied by the symphony of fountains in each square.
Zagoria
Anyone who has visited the “Zagorohoria” (villages of Zagoria) falls under the spell of this magical forgotten land. While it has a rich history, Zagoria is surely a destination for nature lovers: hike the Vikos gorge and paddle down the Voidomatis river in the Vikos-Aoos National Park, climb up to the dragon lake, cross the arched bridges of central Zagoria and observe its 1800 plant species.
